Port Talbot Cadets - Arriva Trains Project at Port Talbot Parkway

HARD AT WORK
Saturday 21st February 2009 saw Port Talbot Sea Cadets on Port Talbot Parkway Railway Station, helping with a community project, to brighten up the stations flower beds. The flower beds were all weeded and the wooden structure around each flower bed was painted.
Previously to this, Port Talbot Sea Cadets had been asked by Arriva Trains to design two murals, that will have pride of place on the station welcoming people to Port Talbot. One mural hopefully shows what the town of Port Talbot is all about, while the second mural is about Port Talbot Sea Cadets and the surrounding area.
The Cadets throughly enjoyed this task. The Cadets and CO then met with local artist Paul Rees, who visited our unit over the period of four or five weeks to work on the murals. The finished murals are superb.
More pictures will follow shortly as the murals are to be unveiled on the 8th April 2009, with invited guests as well as Cadets and Staff from the Unit.
